Just a brief break! Easy gift giving!

by Mary 9/12/2016 6:58:00 AM

Before we begin repairing broken lines and replacing the 1000 drop lines this fall,  we're taking a break from bottling and shipping. Website ordering will be shutdown from September 15 - October 10th.

We can make your gift giving easy - Birthdays, Thinking of You, Happy Cooking, Hope you Feel Better,  Halloween, Christmas, Hanukkah, Valentine's Day. . . let us know if you would like a note included in your gift, when you would like the gift to arrive and we can send someone a nicely wrapped package of delicious maple syrup.

If you have any questions, feel free to email us anytime.

Thank you for looking at our site and hopefully, enjoying our maple syrup.

Syruping is finished for 2016!

by Mary 4/1/2016 7:47:00 AM

With the sap flow decreasing each day, the buds on the maple trees near opening and a record amount of syrup produced, we ended the 2016 Maple Syrup season on March 27th. We started earlier than we ever have in our 22 years (late February) and with a very warm month of March, we ended earlier than usual. The average March temperature in the Twin Cities was 41.6 and this will tie the fifth warmest March on record. We feel very fortunate to have had the cool nights to continue the sap flow.

We have bottled over 35 gallons of maple syrup in various sizes, so now is the time to replenish your supply! We sold out our supply last year, so don't miss out on one of Mother Nature's best gifts!!

Sap continues to flow!

by Mary 3/24/2016 2:31:00 PM

After escaping a winter storm yesterday that brought 12" of snow to southern Minnesota and only flurries to our area, we are back to Spring today! As I write this note, the temperature is 42.9 degrees, the sun is shining brightly and not a cloud in the sky. The nighttime temperature dropped to 24 degrees, so we have had the rapid swing we desire for sap flow.Although somewhat variable, the sap flow at present is roughly 80 gallons /hour! We'll pump the sap up to the sugarhouse tonight, run it through the pool filter and UV light, then cool it down to 33 degrees to prevent any degrading due to warm temperatures.

The forecast for the remainder of the week looks promising for continued sap flow in what is amounting to be a much longer season than some of us anticipated. Specific forecast detail is available if your cursor is over the image:
